How do I uninstall toolbar?

 Our toolbar can be easily removed from your computer using the instructions below. Please skip down to the appropriate section below:


Windows XP

  1. From your computer's 'Start' button, select 'Settings', then 'Control Panel'
  2. Double-click on 'Add/Remove Programs'
  3. Select entry for the Toolbar that is installed on your computer.  The name will match what is displayed on your browser (example Filmfanatic Toolbar, CouponAlert Toolbar, Weatherblink Toolbar, etc).  Need help finding your toolbar name/brand?
  4. Click 'Remove'.
  5. You must reboot your computer to completely remove the toolbar.


Note:  Please note there may be separate entries for each browser the toolbar is installed on so remember to remove them all.



Windows Vista

  1. From your computer's 'Start' button, select 'Control Panel'
  2. Double-click on 'Programs and Features'    
  3. Select the entry for the Toolbar that is installed on your computer.  The name will match what is displayed on your browser (example Filmfanatic Toolbar, CouponAlert Toolbar, Weatherblink Toolbar, etc). Need help finding your toolbar name/brand?
  4. Click 'Remove'.
  5. You must reboot your computer to completely remove the toolbar.

Windows 7

  1. From your computer's 'Start' button, select 'Control Panel'
  2. Click the "Uninstall a Program" option found under the "Programs" category
  3. Select the entry for the Toolbar that is installed on your computer.  The name will match what is displayed on your browser (example Filmfanatic Toolbar, CouponAlert Toolbar, Weatherblink Toolbar, etc). Need help finding your toolbar name/brand?
  4. Click "Remove."
  5. You must reboot your computer to completely remove the toolbar.

Windows 8

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen using your mouse (or finger for touch enabled displays), and then click "Search."
  2. Enter "Uninstall" in the search box and then click the "Settings" category below the search box. 
  3. Click "Uninstall a Program" from list on the left side of the screen.
  4. From the "Program and Features" dialog box that opens, select the entry for the Toolbar that is installed on your computer.  The name will match what is displayed on your browser (example Filmfanatic Toolbar, CouponAlert Toolbar, Weatherblink Toolbar, etc).  Need help finding your toolbar name/brand?
  5. Click "Uninstall."
  6. You must reboot your computer to completely remove the toolbar. 

Note:  Please note there may be separate entries for each browser the toolbar is installed on so remember to remove them all.


Firefox Users who cannot find toolbar in control panel:

If you have a toolbar installed on your Firefox browser, but it is not showing in your computer's control panel, please use the following uninstall instructions:

  1. At the top of the Firefox browser, click on the Firefox button, and select Add-ons.
  2. Make sure the "Extensions" tab is selected on the left side of the screen.
  3. Find the toolbar you are looking to remove.   The name will match what is displayed on your browser (example Filmfanatic Toolbar, CouponAlert Toolbar, Weatherblink Toolbar, etc).  Need help finding your toolbar name/brand?
  4. Click the "Remove" button.
  5. Restart Firefox.  

You should no longer see the toolbar/extension displayed on your Firefox browser.  Please note this will only remove the toolbar from Firefox.  To remove the toolbar from Internet Explorer as well, please follow the Internet Explorer instructions above.



Google Chrome:


IMPORTANT NOTE: Instructions for uninstalling our toolbar from your Google Chrome browser depend on the brand of our toolbar installed and sometimes on the date you installed the toolbar.  Some toolbars require you to uninstall from your computer's control panel, while others allow you to uninstall from Chrome's extensions menu.  We recommend you check your computer's control panel first.  If the toolbar is listed, proceed with the uninstall.  If your toolbar is not listed, please proceed to the extensions menu uninstall instructions.

To remove our toolbar/extension from your computer's control panel:

 Windows XP

To uninstall our toolbar/extension on Windows XP machines:

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
  2. Select Add or Remove Programs.
  3. Select  the extension name you are trying to remove.
  4. Click Change/Remove.
  5. Select Yes when prompted to remove the extension.
  6. Restart Google Chrome.

Windows Vista

To uninstall our toolbar/extension on Windows Vista machines:

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel
  2. Under Programs, select Uninstall a program
  3. Double click the Extension name you are trying to remove
  4. Select Continue on the User Account Control screen
  5. Select Yes when prompted to remove the extension
  6. Restart Google Chrome

Windows 7

To uninstall our toolbar/extension  on Windows 7 machines:

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel
  2. Select Programs and Features
  3. Double click extension name you are trying to remove
  4. Select Yes when prompted to remove the extension
  5. Restart Google Chrome

Windows 8

To uninstall our toolbar/extension on Windows 8 machines:

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then click "Search."
  2. Enter "Uninstall" in the search box and then click the "Settings" category below the search box. 
  3. Click "Uninstall a Program" from list on the left side of the screen.
  4. From the "Program and Features" dialog box that opens, double click extension name you are trying to remove
  5. Click "Uninstall".
  6. Restart Google Chrome

To remove our toolbar/extension from Google Chrome's Extensions menu:

  1. Click on the three horizontal lines icon in the upper right-hand corner of your Chrome browser.
  2. Go to "Settings."
  3. In the menu that appears click on"Extensions."
  4. From the list of installed Extensions, find the entry for the brand name of the toolbar you are attempting to remove (example TelevisionFanatic, Weatherblink, etc).
  5. Click on the trash can icon to the right of "Enable."
  6. Close your browser completely and reopen it. Our Toolbar extension should be removed From your Chrome browser.

Safari:


To remove our software from your Safari browser:

  1. At the top of your browser select Safari from the menu bar.
  2. Select Preferences from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on the “Extensions” tab.
  4. Highlight the <Toolbar name> extension (for example televisionfanatic, dailybibleguide, etc).
  5. Click the Uninstall button.

It is important to note that you will continue to see the toolbar until you have completely restarted your browser.
